Sentiments for Seminarians

When:  Starting October up to the December Winter DD meeting
What: Councils Collect Gift Cards for donation to Seminarians

Why: This replaces the older days when collections of product needs were done for Seminarians. Gift cards serve a practical purpose, so seminarians can do their own shopping for their needs

Each year Council leadership within each Diocese make requests to Councils, individual members and Parish Community for Gift Cards.  The Cards donated within the diocese are often presented within same Diocese collected, to the Bishop, vocations director, rector of the seminary, or a diocesan representative of same Diocese.  Gift Card suggestions are - Gas Cards with Kwik Trip being the favorite, Department store cards such as Walmart, Target, Amazon. Other cards like – Visa Cash Card.  Cards can be purchased through Script services sold within the Parish Communities for double support to both Parish and Seminarians.

Cards are collected by the District Deputy prior to the December Winter DD meeting which is 1st weekend in Dec.

Resources:

This is an ongoing Program and should always be promoted and assumed active. District Deputy’s and Councils without DD’s should participate yearly. Assemblies should also consider this Program.
