Punt, Pass, & Kick
Overview
The Punt, Pass & Kick (PPK) program is a Wisconsin State Council youth athletics competition designed to promote skill development, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among young participants.
Open to boys and girls ages 8–12, the program challenges participants in three football skill areas: punting, passing, and kicking. Local councils host competitions across the state, with winners advancing through diocesan and state levels.
This long-standing program provides a fun and structured environment for youth to compete while building confidence and community involvement through the Knights of Columbus.

Program Details
Eligibility
- Open to boys and girls ages 8–12
- Age is determined as of August 31 of the current contest year
- Participants must register using official entry forms signed by a parent or guardian
- There is no cost to participate
Competition Format
Each participant competes in three events:
- Punt
- Pass
- Kick (using a kicking tee)
Key format details:
- Each participant receives 3 attempts per event (1 practice, 2 scored)
- Scoring is based on:
- Distance (feet traveled in the air)
- Accuracy (distance from center line deducted)
- The best score from each event is combined for a final total
Equipment & Rules Highlights
- Ages 8–11 use a junior football; age 12 uses regulation size
- Cleats or athletic shoes are allowed; no boots or street shoes
- Gloves and grip substances are not allowed
- Competitions must follow all official rules outlined in the program guide
Advancement Structure
- Council Winners → Diocesan (Regional)
- Diocesan 1st & 2nd Place → State Competition
Travel cards are required for advancement and must be properly completed at each level .
Timeline
- Council Competitions: July 1 – September 30
- Results Due to Diocesan Coordinators: October 1
- Diocesan Competitions: October 3 – October 19
- Results Due to State: October 22
- State Competition: Late October / Early November (Location TBD)
