Soccer Challenge
Overview
The Soccer Challenge is a fun and competitive program that promotes skill development, sportsmanship, and community engagement among youth. Participants compete in a penalty kick-style competition, demonstrating accuracy and control in a structured and supportive environment.
Councils across Wisconsin host local competitions, with winners advancing through higher levels of competition. The program, supported by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council, is adapted by the Wisconsin State Council to ensure accessibility and strong participation statewide.

Program Details
Eligibility
- Open to boys and girls ages 9–14
- Age is determined according to Supreme guidelines
- Participants must register using official entry forms signed by a parent or guardian
Competition Format
The Soccer Challenge is a penalty kick competition:
- Each participant takes a set number of penalty kicks
- Shots are taken from a designated distance based on age group
- Points are awarded based on accuracy (target zones within the goal)
Participants compete within their respective age divisions, and scores determine advancement.
Advancement Structure
- Council Level → Diocesan Level → State Level
- Council winners advance to Diocesan competitions
- Diocesan winners advance to the State Competition
Top performers at the state level may be submitted to Supreme for international recognition.
Hosting Flexibility
Councils may host competitions at:
- Outdoor soccer fields
- Indoor gymnasiums
- School or parish facilities
This flexibility allows councils to adapt the program to local resources and weather conditions.
Reporting Requirements
Councils are responsible for:
- Completing official score sheets and entry forms
- Submitting results to Diocesan Program Coordinators
- Ensuring all advancing participants have proper documentation
Accurate and timely reporting ensures proper advancement and state-level recognition.

- Council Competitions: March 1 - May 24, 2026
- Diocesan Competitions: June 6 - June 21, 2026
- State Competition: June 27, 2026 (Madison)
Fall
- Council Competitions: July 1 - October 1, 2025
- Diocesan Competitions: October 3 - October 19, 2025
- State Competition: TBD (Wausa)
Reporting Deadlines
- Council reports due to Diocesan Programs Coordinator: June 2 (Spring) or October 1 (Fall)
- Diocesan reports due to State Director: June 25 (Spring) or October 23 (Fall)
